A story in Wednesday&#039;s Guardian may have left readers with the impression the city is picking up the tab for off-duty security work its police officers provide for bars and nightclubs.
The police department will be paying the officers for that work but the department will, in turn, bill those bars and nightclubs for services rendered. In the past, the establishments dealt with the officers directly by paying them. This corrects information supplied to The Guardian.&lt;/blockquote&gt;

I would quibble with the final sentence, however. I &lt;u&gt;clearly&lt;/u&gt; said that clients would be invoiced for the cost of the service.</description>
