Island Waste Management Corp is a provincial govt entity; however, my understanding is that non-compostable plastic bags are still allowed for the fall and spring compost pickups. How many leaves are placed in non-compostable plastic bags? In Brighton, how about 80% ? I walk around the naburhud (neighbourhood) ((almost 50% improvement in language efficiency)) almost every day, and I see the result. What happens when these "not decomposable" plastic bags get to the compost station? I'm surprised that they get picked up! In fact, I think they should be left by the curb!! BUT, if citizens were smart enough to use mulching mowers, most of this problem would be avoided, and the citizens would enjoy more fertilization for their lawns.
